So yes we all have excess belly fat and unwanted pounds to lose. It’s just the facts, like it or not. We aren’t kids anymore and can’t just eat whatever we want and do whatever we want. That ship has sailed. It’s time to burn off that nasty belly fat!
My husband can cut out the carbs, cut out the coke, start eating healthy and I can watch his belly start to shrink. And all of this without exercising!
Us women on the other hand, can do the same thing and the belly fat doesn’t act the same way. Not going to lie, this kind of makes me a little angry, but I can deal with it. I shall overcome.
Exercise must be a part of our weight loss routine to get rid of that stubborn flat belly and excess weight. There is no getting out of exercise. It’s a must! While you can’t specifically target an area of your body, you can help an area by doing some specific exercises.
My favorite exercise workout that makes me feel like my belly is on fire and burning off the fat is the elliptical machine. My husband bought a used one off of Craigslist a while back for himself. I have taken that thing over. Many people buy workout gear after the new year and then sadly turn it into a clothing rack. Great way to get a deal on one.
If you have never used an elliptical before, you will soon find out this thing works your entire body. No joke. Stay on it for 30 minutes and you will feel like a scrambled egg. Your not glistening, your full on sweating.
My routine is to use the elliptical 30 minutes a day and I like to keep my posture perfect. When I keep good posture while moving on the machine, I can feel a lot more belly burning going on. It’s working the abdominal area, arms, legs, and everything in between.
What other exercise can we do to kind of target the abdominal belly area? Good question. You may remember some of these from high school gym class.
- Burpees (funny but look it up)
- Mountain Climb (without a need for an actual mountain)
- Bicycles (ones laying on your back)
- Superman (one your tummy, looks like your flying)
Pick one or more of these exercises and make the commitment. It’s time to start working towards that flat belly that we all want.
